Allow me to introduce myself: my name is Filipa Rodrigues, I am a 4th year student at Nova Medical School and President of the Organizing Committee of the 9th edition of the iMed Conference®.
I was challenged to present the iMed Conference® but instead of making the traditional presentation of the concept, vision and mission, I’ll make you an invitation.
Annually we aim to inspire, to urge, to embrace the evidence-based science and medical practice – introducing and keeping our participants on the path towards excellence.
How do we do it? Through a formula created long ago and perfected throughout the years. Each year we invite researchers to present what’s fresher and more relevant in the worldwide scientific panorama, bringing the most stirring out-of-the-box stories and inspiring life experiences. All of this is preceded by a day of hands-on experience intended to complement the participants’ formation – with a wide-variety of workshops to choose from.
We don’t want you to be a mere observer. We invite you to partake in our competitions: if you are a clinical detective join Prof. Lisa Sanders (consultant in the TV Show House MD) in the Clinical Mind Competition and solve the exclusive and unpublished case she provides us; if you want to make the world a better place and spend your free time doing research, submit your work to the Innovate Competition and if you want to know more about the work of the speakers of the previous iMed editions, join them in their research centres across Europe, with all expenses covered.
If all of this doesn’t convince you, we have one final argument: the iMed Conference is a project made by students for students. Low fees make this experience affordable whilst allowing you to discover Lisbon. Enjoy the city, the people, the culture and the gastronomy though our Social Programme and I can assure you this will be an experience you won’t forget.
